The Greenwood Freedom Festival Committee is pleased to announce the winners of its 2008“It's a Grand Old Flag ” T-shirt Design Contest.

A selection committee reviewed hundreds of entries submitted by area students, looking for creativity, best use of the 2008 festival theme, “It's a Grand Old Flag ”, and color selection.

The winning design for the elementary school entries was submitted by Northeast Elementary student Quinton Oliver.  Quinton’s design will be printed, pocket-size, on the front of the 2008 Freedom Festival t-shirts.

The winning design for the middle school entries was submitted by Greenwood Middle School student Chelsea Norwood.  Chelsea ’s design will be printed on the back of the official 2008 Freedom Festival t-shirts.

Both of the award-winning t-shirt design artists and their families will be featured as honored guests in the Greenwood Freedom Festival Parade on Saturday, June 30, 2008 at 10:00 a.m.  They will also be presented trophies at the Greenwood Freedom Festival Evening Entertainment Stage at 9:30 p.m.  Official Freedom Festival t-shirts may be purchased at the GreenwoodCommunity Center for Ten Dollars ($10.00) each, from June 8th through June 23rd.

These t-shirts may also be purchased at the Greenwood Freedom Festival on June 30, 2008, at the Freedom Festival Committee Information Booth, while supplies last.  Proceeds from the sale of the t-shirts will benefit the Greenwood Freedom Festival.
